Can Zippo Lighters Be Brought In Check-in Luggages In Singapore?
by admin / February 6th, 2010
I know they’re strict, so i was wondering if i can put in the zippo lighter in my check-in luggage.. i hear all liquids are allowed there, but i’m travelling with my boyfriend and he might think that I’m smoking, when the Zippo is for a friend. I used to smoke, so he might think i’m lying, haha.
So are they allowed?

You may take up to 2 fueled Zippo lighters in your checked baggage if they are properly enclosed in a DOT approved case. You can bring unlimited quantities of unfueled lighters in your checked baggage. The packaging is a vapor-tight plastic box that can accommodate a single Zippo lighter. These packages must be clearly marked by their manufacturer to show that they comply with the DOT regulations. This enables TSA security officers to easily identify them during screening.
Note, it is the US travel requirements that do not allow lighters on carry on bags (thus when we are boarding in the US to go to Singapore, then we may have issues). But Singapore does not have a lighter restriction…
