Can I Empty A Regular Lighter And Use It’s Fluid On A Zippo?

By regular lighter i mean one that you can pick up at any gas station. The kind that can be clear and BIC’s could be examples.

You can’t fill a lighter that’s designed for naphtha (liquid lighter fliuid) with butane because butane is a gas unless kept in a sealed chamber under pressure.
However, there are some refillable lighters that use butane.

I wouldn’t try it. However, once I ran out and could find no replacement can of fuel. I managed to eke out a few more days by using rubbing alcohol. I was happy to get back to the U.S. so I could refuel properly, though.

I don’t think so but in my opinion if you bought a Zippo lighter why not spend 5 dollars on a can of Zippo lighter fluid.
